“I, Bacteria” for Summer School on Symbiosis: old friends and foes

The idea for this illustration came from the Ted talk ‘How bacteria “talk”’ by Bonnie Bassler and I borrowed the name from the book-turned-movie I, Robot. The poster was designed by the amazing Catarina Julio, from Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. 

The illustration was commissioned for the Summer School on Symbiosis for PhD students that will be happening between July and August at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Portugal. Learn more here.

T-shirt design (front and back), in colaboration with Sandra Tavares, for Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) for Optimus Alive festival of this year. The design depics the idea of something inherent to life: vibration/sound.
